HELIX COLLECTION
Inspired by one of the most common shapes found in nature, the spiral, Helix is a collection of decorative prints and weaves suitable for accessories, drapes and upholstery. From flowers such as lupins and sunflowers to pine cones and nautilus shells, nature has evolved continually using the conic helix growth pattern. Even powerful movements of the elements can occur in spiral formations. This highly efficient method of natural design allows life to not only grow but to flourish, and the Helix collection perfectly encapsulates this.

Axis
Spiral or conical growth requires the form to develop rotating round an axis. This linear design originates from line drawings of a pine cone, one of the most obvious spiral growths in the natural world. Taking the texture and colour out of the natural form, we begin to see the mathematical structure.

Conc
The pine – certainly one of the most obvious spiral forms in nature and one we are all used to seeing, bringing back nostalgic memories of forest walks. Conc is an abstracted print looking at the sometimes irregular way the scales unfold. The gentle rolling style of this print will give a graceful lift of colour to your home.

Cyclone
The ravaging power of nature can be incredibly powerful when spirals begin to form. Originally inspired by aerial photographs of storms, Cyclone is a textural print created with inks, salts and paints to bring a real sense of drama to interior spaces. Perfect for striking drapes and statement furniture.

Helico
The spiral has evolved to be one of the most effective ways for botanicals to grow. Sometimes this growth pattern is immediately seen, at other times we have to look at nature from a different angle. Lupins on first sight appear to grow in a vertical formation, viewed from above however we see the beautiful spiraling of the flower heads. Helico comes from a series of ‘aerial’ photographs of lupin heads.

Lupinus
This textural weave brings tactile relief and depth to the Helix collection. Aerial lupin formations woven into the finest blend of Irish linen and cotton creating a beautifully soft but durable fabric ideal for drapes and upholstery.
-

Petroglyph
It seems humans have for a long time appreciated the importance of the spiral in the natural world. In Neolithic times peoples across the world carved spiral shapes into rocks at sacred or important sites. Was this in relation to galaxies in space, flora and fauna formations or representing something else? We will probably never know. This small scale print celebrates the rough stone petroglyphs carved into rock.

Ringspun
Ringspun yarns are created with the use of rotating spindles, creating superior strong yarns for weaving quality and durable fabrics. Our Ringspun, like this process of producing fine yarns is a strong fabric making it ideal for upholstery or heavy drapes.
